LDL receptor-mediated endocytosis

The LDL receptor mediates the endocytosis of
LDL. The receptors loaded with LDL accumulate
in a coated pit (a), which separates from the
plasma membrane and forms an endocytotic
vesicle (b). This transports LDL molecules to a
lysosome.
